ABOUT

All Things Black

All Things BLACK was created in Long Beach, CA during the COVID-19 pandemic and national racial uprisings after the murders of Amaud Aubrey and George Floyd–a time when the need for reconciliation and a radical shift toward justice was critical– as a way to love on, uplift, and center the Black community in a virtual way, primarily through customized web site launches.

A core project, www.allthingsblack.love is an online resource intended to support community building, connection, collaboration, awareness, and ultimately a more beautiful world for all of us.

In additional to a community-sourced searchable resource directory, here you can find a shared Black Long Beach calendar, resource map, and links to topics related to being the village, being well, building power, Black liberation, community calls to action, and more. You are invited to help make it what you’d like in an online resource.

The All Things BLACK logo was created with inspiration from the African Adinkra symbol: Mpatapo, which means “Knot of Reconciliation” – it’s a symbol of reconciliation, peacemaking and pacification. It can also symbolize forgiveness and is often depicted as a knot that binds parties in a dispute to a peaceful resolution.

This site has been curated with love

for the greater Long Beach community and neighbors, with the hope that you will share, contribute to, and utilize the info and resources here as we continue to build, uplift, and center the Black community and our connections with one another.  Asé.
